Interview: Taylor Wane

How did you get into the adult business?
At the age of 18, my mum entered me in a calendar girl competition. I had wanted to be a teacher and was training to do so and never considered aspirations to model. Although I was unsure, I went ahead with the competition. I came first place and won, even though my number was unlucky 13! I had my first taste of the limelight and wanted more. After being taken on by a modelling agency and doing many modelling jobs advertising T-shirts and beer, I decided to move to London. Not having the typical model physique, my career headed towards topless modelling. After a friend told me about her experience modelling in Los Angeles, I was on a mission to head to the States. I landed in New York and met some people in the adult industry. They lived in LA and they invited me to stay with them. I spent over a year modelling for men’s mags before I took the plunge into adult films. But it wasn’t until I did a movie with Henry Pachard and Patti Rhodes that I became hooked. It was called Female Persuasion. I now have over 350 movies to my credit and still do a new movie every month for my own company: Taylor Wane Entertainment.

What was it like, stepping onto a porn set for the first time?
I think it goes without saying that anyone would be nervous. I remember that the one thing that worried me the most was that I wouldn’t remember the dialogue, I wasn’t nervous about the sex. My very first movie was Precious Peaks, and I did a girl/girl scene with Nina Deponca. I originally had decided that I only wanted to work with girls, as I felt having sex with men on camera was really having sex and I wasn’t sure I wanted to go that far. Whilst in the throws of the scene, the scripts required that Peter North enter the room, says a few words and exits. I had never laid eyes on Peter before that day but I vividly remember, after taking one look at him, that I wanted to work with men as soon as possible.

What have you learned, sexually, from the industry?
You would think one would learn more from being a sex star than from being an ordinary country girl. However, I developed sexually very young and tried a plethora of kinky and erotic things before ever entering the adult business. In fact, some of my most erotic experiences have been off camera and before I was a sex star. One night, while on holiday in Spain, I picked up a couple of horny waiters in a restaurant and we went night clubbing. Once inside the club, we slipped into the bathroom, and then we finished off at their place. Another time, in Greece, I picked up a sexy Greek lad who eagerly showed me what Greek really meant. I would definitely say yes, although I lean more to men. I very much enjoy being with women but I have to have a man to fully satisfy my sexual needs. Of course, there has to be,
I would imagine. I do not participate or enjoy any kind of violence, and I am very uncomfortable with the idea of being tied up. I have to be in control and usually end up being the aggressor. What film would you like to be remembered for?
